Spencer Mosness

Spencer Mosness is Chief Legal, Audit & Risk Officer of Newrez and certain operating subsidiaries of Rithm Capital Corp—Newrez’s parent company. In this capacity, Mr. Mosness oversees Legal, Compliance, Credit Risk, Internal Audit, Regulatory Affairs, and Government Relations.

Since joining Newrez in 2018, Mr. Mosness has played a central role in advancing the company’s approach to risk, regulation, and enterprise strategy. He has strengthened Newrez’s risk and governance framework, and further institutionalized the company’s approach to litigation, regulatory exam management, internal audit, and policy engagement.

Before joining Newrez, Mr. Mosness served in senior in‑house legal leadership roles across the lending industry, including SVP and Deputy General Counsel at Stearns Lending, SVP and General Counsel at Primary Capital Mortgage, and General Counsel at Premier Home Mortgage, where he advised leadership teams on complex legal, regulatory, and operational matters. Earlier in his career, Mr. Mosness was a partner at Costello, Porter, Hill, Heisterkamp, Bushnell & Carpenter, LLP.
